doing a rear bike radar to warn a bike driver from fast approaching cars has been a very difficult task until now. A very complex hardware and high end signal processing is needed for such a sensor.
For new developments of such products RFbeam has launched a module with internal antennas and integrated signal processing. It is based on a high sensitivity FMCW radar working at 24 GHz and is designed for low power battery operation.
It is a first demonstration of this technology to help interested customers to start a custom development with RFbeam.

The narrow beam of 60 x 60 degrees results in a detection range for cars up to 140 m.
The internal signal processing can track 8 objects at the same time and inform about distance, speed and angle.
Depending on settings it can generate different warnings for the rider based on the speed of the vehicles
