Committed to the future of renewable energy and applications in electric vehicles, Ohmite’s new  ES-600 is a high precision, automotive grade current sensing module which will be shown for the first time at Electronica on Stand B6-100.
Using the standard CAN2.0A/B communication protocol, all messages use a standard frame structure with the data length of the message frame being between 1-8 bytes. The default baud of the module is 500kbps, and it can also support 1Mbps/250kbps.
The module performs data sampling at a fixed time interval set by the system and sends data to the CAN bus as well as responding to the trigger command at the same time. In the interval sampling period, the measurement will be performed immediately when the trigger command is received and send the message data to the CAN bus. There is no need to wait for the next interval. 
Based on 5KV galvanic isolation, the ES-600 has IP40 compliant housing, is terminated to 120Ω internally and has an accuracy of current measurement ±0.1% with a current measurement range ±600A.
Applications include battery current monitoring for automotive applications, grid energy storage, UPS and on charging stations.
