New IPD 1,5 installation connectors and distribution boards for space-saving power distribution
(09/26) Phoenix Contact is extending its IPD installation system with new installation connectors and distribution boards for small conductor cross-sections starting from 0.25 mm². The compact components enable fast, tool-free power distribution where space is at a premium and are suitable for indoor and outdoor applications.
With the extension of its IPD portfolio, Phoenix Contact now provides a comprehensive solution for efficient power distribution in machines, systems, and buildings. The new IPD 1,5 installation connectors and distribution boards combine a compact design with a current carrying capacity of up to 16 A and support modern, decentral installation concepts. The field-side wiring is connected via tool-free Push-Lock connection technology, while the device-side wiring is connected with the proven Push-in connection technology. This enables the quick, convenient, and reliable connection of rigid and flexible conductors, as well as conductors with ferrules, with a conductor cross-section ranging from 0.25 to 1.5 mm². This reduces the installation work and minimizes wiring errors. The secure bayonet interlock ensures a quick and reliable connection, even under demanding conditions. At the same time, the compact design saves valuable installation space and is particularly well-suited for applications with limited space. Also on the device side, panel feed-throughs for M16 or M20 panel cutouts provide a compact interface and enable flexible integration into various device and housing concepts.
With the extended range of conductor cross-sections, the new IPD components open up additional areas of application beyond pure power distribution. In addition to the power supply, signals can also be transmitted reliably. This makes the installation system suitable for modern lighting applications with DALI communication and other decentral automation concepts, for example.
Supplementary distribution boards facilitate power distribution directly in the field and ensure that the system’s wiring is well-organized. Users benefit from a consistent, pluggable infrastructure for power and communication lines within an application. High degrees of protection also make the system suitable for harsh industrial environments as well as outdoor and damp areas.
