SERMA launches private and sovereign AI for industry
SERMA designs and deploys private, sovereign AI developed in France to meet manufacturers’ security, confidentiality and performance requirements. The offering enables companies to put their data and know-how to work while retaining control over their infrastructure and access to sensitive information.
Sovereign AI to protect strategic data
Engineering drawings, production data, technical specifications and test results are among the sensitive information that manufacturers need to protect. To address this need, SERMA Group is launching an offering that allows companies to deploy AI within their own infrastructure and manage access to their data.
SERMA’s on-premises AI keeps data and processing within an environment controlled by the company. Manufacturers retain control over their infrastructure and strategic information while reducing their reliance on external AI services.
“Our ambition is to help manufacturers realise the full potential of AI while retaining control over their data and know-how. Innovation and technological sovereignty must go hand in hand as industry evolves,” says Philippe Berlié, President of SERMA Group.
Three solutions that can be deployed separately or together A private AI assistant to support teams in their day-to-day work, from drafting to analysing and summarising documents. A knowledge management system (KMS) that makes company procedures, reference documents and reports easier to use. When connected to the assistant, it enables the assistant to answer questions using documents the user is authorised to access and to cite the sources. On-premises AI servers that run models within the company’s infrastructure, with computing capacity sized to its workloads.
In an on-premises deployment, models process requests within the company’s infrastructure without calling a public AI API for inference. The company manages access rights and sizes computing capacity to its workloads. Local inference incurs no per-request or per-token charges.
An offering built on 35 years of industrial experience
For 35 years, SERMA has worked in sectors where confidentiality, reliability and control over systems are essential, including aeronautics, space and defence. This experience, together with SERMA’s expertise in electronics, cybersecurity and functional safety, shaped the design of the offering. SERMA’s teams have used it in real-world conditions and refined it based on their own use.
