Telegärtner is expanding its range of D-coded and X-coded field-terminable M12 circular connectors with IDC termination technology to include versions featuring an exceptionally short housing. These connectors are particularly suitable for applications where installation space is limited. They can be assembled quickly and easily without the need for special tools.

The new field-terminable M12x1 D-coded and X-coded IDC connectors from Telegärtner have been developed for applications with increased requirements for reliability and operational safety under extreme mechanical stress. Thanks to their exceptionally short housing, measuring only 46 to 50 millimetres in length, they are also ideally suited to installations where space is limited and conventional M12 connectors are too large.
The connectors are available in both male and female versions. The IDC insulation displacement contacts are designed not only for solid and 7-strand conductors, but also for 19-strand wires. The connectors accept wires with an outer diameter of 0.99 to 1.55 mm and cables with an outer diameter of 5.5 to 9.0 mm. They can be assembled quickly and easily on site, without the need for special tools, and are suitable for a wide variety of cable types.

The M12x1 IDC connectors are IP67 rated and are suitable for operation in temperatures ranging from -40°C to +85°C.
The D-coded versions support Fast Ethernet with data rates of up to 100 Mbit/s and PoE in accordance with IEEE 802.3af, while the X-coded versions are designed for 10 Gigabit Ethernet with data rates of up to 10 Gbit/s and 4PPoE in accordance with IEEE 802.3bt.
