RFbeam presents the V-LD3 module, a 3D FMCW radar module working in the 60 GHz band. The internal signal processing can output a 3D point cloud information about static and moving targets over the serial interface.
The radar frontend with compact dimensions of 20 x 25 mm can be directly soldered as SMT module on a customer board or be connected over a flatband cable.
The on board antennas with a 80 x 34 deg. field of view are optimized for the frequency range of 57 to 61 GHz to simplify CE and FCC certification.
Power supply is from 1.8 V single supply, the low power chipset is designed to push the radar technology into battery operated applications.
The modules are pre- calibrated and tested in the factory to provide a instant start of a development with the pre-programmed application.
The new V-LD3-RFB sensor module is based on the innovative low-power IWRL6432 chipset from Texas Instruments and is perfectly suited for human detection and multi-object tracking applications up to 20 meters.
The V-LD3-RFB is fully compatible with Texas Instruments’ latest low-power SDK and comes preprogrammed with TI’s innovative human presence detection demo, including a human/non-human classifier. It features optimized onboard antennas and is pre-calibrated and tested, further simplifying its use.
RFbeam leverages its extensive expertise to help customers bring certified radar solutions to market, offering support with certification and radome design.
Additionally, RFbeam provides an evaluation kit offering full access to all pins, including SPI RAW data capture, JTAG connector, and CAN interface. The kit is based on an interface PCB, onto which the V-LD3 is mounted using spring-loaded contacts. Simply connect a USB-C cable to your host and start evaluating the extensive features of Texas Instruments’ IWRL6432 chipset for your end product.
